DESCRIPTION:On March 5\, North Hill will present a course which reviews t
 he lived experience and world views of major world religions of South As
 ian origin\, including Hinduism\, Buddhism\, Jainism and Sikhism.\nPlatt
  offers an overview of the origins and growth of these traditions in his
 torical context and their development into worldwide movements. Attendee
 s will explore the similarities and differences between these religious 
 traditions and the vast diversity of people who observe each tradition.\
 nLed by Katherine Platt\, an Associate Professor of Cultural Anthropolog
 y at Babson College. She received her Ph.D. from the London School of Ec
 onomics of the University of London. Among her courses at Babson are &ld
 quo\;Cultures of the Middle East\,&rdquo\; &ldquo\;The &nbsp\;Anthropolo
 gy of Food&rdquo\; and &ldquo\;World Religions in Everyday Life.&rdquo\;
  In the fall of 2011 she led a one month world religions course in India
  for Babson students.\nThis course is the first in North Hill&rsquo\;s W
 orld Religions Series\, a survey of the history and impact of religious 
 traditions across the world. It is open to all active adults in the Bost
 on area.\nThe program will be held on Monday\, March 5 from 10 a.m. to n
 oon at Olin Hall on the Babson College campus\, 231 Forest St.\, Wellesl
