The Show within the Show: Diegesis in American Musical Theater

Rivers School Conservatory, 333 Winter St, Weston, MA | Get Directions »
$10.00

Back by popular demand! The Boston Conservatory’s Christopher Caggiano once again takes MetrowWest seniors on a tour of American musical theater.

In this class, Caggiano will talk about “diagesis” – a musical technique in which the singer tells the story in the context of the show, versus singing in character. Think “Bill” in Show Boat or “Do Re Mi” from Sound of Music.

Explore the “show within a show” technique while watching clips from some of your favorite musicals.

Sponsored by North Hill, Massachusetts’ senior living leader.

$10. Course fees are payable by check (made payable to North Hill Needham Inc), at the door or mailed in advance (mailed to True North Courses, North Hill, 865 Central Ave., Needham, MA 02492). You may also pay by MasterCard or Visa when you call to enroll.
