The Needham Public Library will host Dr. Gary Hylander and his presentation on the Sacco and Vanzetti Trials on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 7:30 p.m. in the Community Room. 

Tried for the murders of a paymaster and guard of a Braintree shoe factory, the case of Sacco and Vanzetti developed into one of the nation's great trials.  Were the defendants guilty because of their unpopular political beliefs and immigrant backgrounds, or did the weight of the evidence presented to a Dedham jury warrant their convistions and death by electrocution?

Dr. Gary Hylander, adjunct professor at Framingham State University and Stonehill College, will discuss the case, still controversial after all these years.
