Red, White and Blue Musical Concert and Family Picnic
Memorial Park, 92 Rosemary St, Needham, MA | Get Directions »
FREE
Bring your picnic basket and enjoy a patriotic concert at Memorial Park. The concert begins at 6:30 with the Haverhill Sons of Italy Drum and Bugle Corps, a group that has been performing in venues such as North End festivals and parades across the region for 70 years. They will be followed by the Georgia Brass Band, a classic band with a national reputation. Appropriately, music director Joe Johnson is a Needham native and graduated from Needham High School in 1983. The band will be followed by the immensely popular "Trooper Dan", the famous former state trooper with the memorable voice. Sgt. Daniel Clark, along with his equally talented opera star wife Mary Colarusso, will serenade the crowd as the stars come out and twinkle overhead.

More About Memorial Park
With stately Needham High School perched atop the hill beside it, Memorial Park offers a plethora of activities for those who visit. The recently renovated park often finds athletes utilizing the two baseball diamonds, as well as the multiuse synthetic field, all of which are lit up at night. During warmer months, live music is played at the park's gazebo.
As its name implies, Memorial Park also pays tribute to veterans through a granite monument, plaques and American flags. As one inscription reads, the park is dedicated to the "men and women of Needham who served the armed forces of our great country in all wars."
