Public Workshop for Possible Rail Trail

Needham Town Hall, 1471 Highland Ave, Needham, MA | Get Directions »
FREE

Needham Park and Recreation and Bay Colony Rail Trail Association (BCRTA) are sponsoring a public workshop to discuss a possible recreation path on a rail-right-of-way no longer in use.  The path would start near Chestnut Street and the Needham Junction station and reach the border with Dover at the Charles River.  The Towns of Dover and Medfield are studying the same project in their towns, so if all three were created, the path would be 7 miles.  BCRTA has hired Fay, Spofford and Thorndike to help with some technical questions.  The report will be presented to the Board of Selectmen this spring.
