This will be the 57th year that the Blue Tree will be lit on the town common to kick off the holiday season. There will also be free parking on Saturdays downtown throughout the holiday season, beginning Saturday, Nov. 26.
Needham's Blue Tree Lighting will include the lighting of the tree at Avery Square near the Needham Heights train station at 5:15 p.m. and the tree lighting at the Town Common at 5:30 p.m., with music and other activities on the common following the lighting.
The event will include a visit from Santa Claus, who will arrive on a fire truck.
Beforehand, enjoy sales and shopping opportunities around downtown Needham.
