Jack Welch, the former CEO of GE, said recently that the technology known as fracking has unleashed a revolution comparable to the development of the Internet. On Sunday, January 20, the Needham Lyceum will host a discussion focusing on the impact of fracking technology on US energy reserves, economic growth and energy prices.

The discussion will be led by Needham resident Bob Place. Place has been developing and building electrical generation facilities for the past 25 years. He is currently developing a natural gas-fired power plant just outside of Washington DC using Marcellus gas as the fuel source.  The Lyceum will be held at First Parish and begins at 9:15 a.m.

First Parish is fully accessible and located just off the town square at 23 Dedham Ave (route 135).  Please enter through the Lincoln Street doors and follow signs to the Lyceum. There is ample parking in the town lot off of Lincoln Street. For more information, go to www.uuneedham.org or call the Parish office at 781-444-0823.
