Needham residents can save money and energy this winter by weatherizing their homes. Green Needham Collaborative is offering a series of one-hour workshops addressing the unique weatherization opportunities and challenges for three common types of houses in Needham – capes, colonials and ranches. Each workshop will take place at the Needham Historical Society, 1147 Central Ave.
On Wednesday, January 16 at7 p.m., the presentation will focus on Weatherizing Capes. On Thursday, January17, at 7 p.m. the focus will be on Weatherizing Colonials and Ranches in Needham. Each session will be led by experienced energy advisors from Next Step Living, a company which has completed 24,000 Mass Save® home energy assessments in Massachusetts. The workshops will last approximately one hour, with plenty of time for questions. All are welcome to come either night to learn more about their home’s weatherization options. Refreshments will be served.

More About Needham Historical Society
The Needham Historical Society presents many historical lectures and workshops throughout the year. The Society also plans events like the annual Pansy Day Festival in April, and a Chocolate Creations and Champagne outing in February.
Established in 1915, the Historical Society houses everything from Native American artifacts and historic flags to genealogical documents, town reports and more than 5,000 photos. The Web site also features several online exhibits and feature articles. Visitors will also find gift items and books for sale.
Meetings are typically held at the Upper Falls Schoolhouse on Central Avenue.
