Music for Organ, Piano and Flute. Please join us for a gala performance of works by Guilmant, JCF Bach, Jongen, Franck, John Ireland and others in a special benefit concert on Sunday, November 4 at 3:00 PM at St. Joseph Church, 1360 Highland Avenue, Needham.
Performances by Leo Abbott, Organist and Music Director of the Cathedral of the Holy Cross, Boston and Organist and Composer Dr. Charles Callahan, with Ellen Hinkle, Flute. More About St. Joseph Parish
Originally a mission of parishes in Roxbury, Newton Upper Falls and Natick in the 1800s, St. Joseph Parish has grown into its own as a highly attended church on Highland Avenue. The Rev. Michael Lawlor leads a 4 p.m. vigil on Saturdays, as well as services on Sunday at 8 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Services are also conducted Monday through Friday at both 6:50 a.m. and 9 a.m.
The church sponsors several special events and fundraisers throughout the year. Among them are St. Joseph's Christmas Bazaar, the Golf Tournament, apple picking in September and a spring auction.
Women are invited to the church to take part in the WINGS (Women in God's Spirit) group as well as the Women's Guild. Men, meanwhile, can join the local Knights of Columbus, while teens will find a basketball league, Relay for Life, Youth Circle and Youth Teaming with Justice and Peace Committee. For children, the church offers a grades 5 to 8 basketball league, Boy Scout and Girl Scout meetings, and a toddler's playgroup.
