State Treasurer Steve Grossman and WBUR radio personality Robin Young will
headline the Newton-Needham Chamber’s 97th annual Awards Achievement Breakfast
on Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 8 a.m. at the Needham Sheraton Hotel. The breakfast – the largest annual gathering
of area business and civic leaders – will honor local businesses and
individuals for their contributions to the economic and cultural vitality of
Newton and Needham.

               
Grossman, a Newton resident and former businessman who was elected state
treasurer in 2010, will deliver the keynote address and is expected to
elaborate on his call for an online sales tax, a matter he recently described
an issue of “Main Street fairness.”

Young, host of WBUR’s “Here & Now” and a former reporter from NBC, CBS and
ABC television, will serve as master of ceremonies.

The breakfast also serves as the Chamber’s annual meeting.
