"Bites Nearby" is a weekly column featuring a great restaurant in (town) or a nearby community.
Serving lunch and dinner seven days a week, Pacini’s Italian Eatery has been a staple in Needham for the last 17 years. Pacini’s specializes in shrimp scampi, veal piccata, and ravioli and chicken, but what sets it apart from similar restaurants is its create-your-own calzone station. Those who opt into this activity can choose from ingredients like zucchini, meatballs, sundried tomatoes and artichoke hearts. Delivery is also available, while diners at the restaurant can choose from a selection of beer and wine.    
Originally founded in 1940 by Kenneth and Hazel Mullen, Hazel’s Bakery has been an important part of the Needham landscape for generations of residents. A short walk from the MBTA Hersey stop, commuters can find fresh brewed coffee in the morning or take home a pastry before driving home at night. Hazel's specialties include homemade breads, scones, pies, cookies and cakes. Patrons can also find sandwiches and breakfast items.
