Week in Review: Election Additions and Fundraising
A look at some of the top stories on Needham Patch last week.
Life gets busy, and we at Patch certainly understand that. So with that in mind, here are a few stories you might have missed on Needham Patch this week.
1. Friends Seek Funds to Enhance New Senior Center: The Friends of the Needham Elderly’s fundraising committee is looking for help getting to their $600,000 goal for the new senior center’s enrichment fund.
2. Selectman To Step Down On Jan. 25: Selectman Jim Healy announced on Tuesday that he will be stepping down earlier than expected to avoid the cost of a special election.
3. Stretch Code Back on the Table: Selectman Jerry Wasserman agrees to draw up a list of questions people still have about adopting the Stretch Energy Code and report back to the board.
4. Neckes Seeks School Committee Seat: Susan Neckes has taken out nomination papers to run for the Needham Public Schools School Committee.
5. Two Morning Crashes Send Two to Hospital: Wet weather led to several crashes in the area. Two people were injured when their vehicle rolled over at the on-ramp from Route 135 onto Route 128 southbound, while there were no injuries in a second two-car crash that occurred in the median of Route 128 northbound.
6. In this week’s police reports: A stolen GPS was found in Natick; a resident reported someone cut the wires on their Christmas lights; a woman was arrested for disturbing the peace; and a Needham man was charged with his second OUI in Dedham.
