SOUND OFF: Where Are the Worst Mobile Phone Service Dead Spots?

Tell us where the places are where cellphone service invariably drops.

We all know where they are: the parts of town where you always seem to lose a cellphone connection.

Dead spots.

The places to avoid if you need to be on a mobile phone.

For example, in my experience, every time I drive through parts of Chestnut Hill, if I'm on a call, I lose it.

So where are the worst places you know for cellphone service?

Siobhan, I can't tell you how many times I've "hung up" on my mom driving through that section of Weston. You are so right.

There aren't too many obvious spots that come to mind in Sudbury. I have Verizon and I seem to have coverage in the majority of places I go. I switched from AT&T years ago because I lost service all the time in Sudbury alone. The Weston location seems to be bad for everyone though.

Driving on Raymond Road in Sudbury is tough. There's a stretch by the marsh where you will always lose the call.

Nobscot Rd by the scout reservation. My husband and I call this "the boy scouts" as in, "I'm going to lose you, I'm almost at the boy scouts". Also the eastern side of Old Lancaster, which might be okay, really. That road is so narrow and crooked no one should talk on the phone while driving on it anyway.

Would these be the same people who cry, "Not in my backyard," when a new cell tower is sited?

Route 2 by the Mormon Temple -- we're convinced the temple has something to do with it! Always drop the call there.

Great Plain Avenue, on either side of the Wellesley-Needham line - total dead spot, totally frustrating.

Route 30 between Weston High and the fire station. 100% dropped calls on that short stretch.

The three most common places that I drop calls are:
1. Weston - Rt 30 between the Weston Fire Station and the High School.
2. Weston - Rt 30 between Oak St and Newton Street (Near Pine Brook CC).
2. Wayland - Rt 126 Old Conn Path East between Rice Rd and the Coach Grll.
