Police Reports: Woman Fights Postal Worker, Strips

The following information was supplied by the Needham Police Department. Any charges mentioned do not indicate a conviction.

 

A Needham woman was arrested for assault and indecent exposure after she fought with a postal worker outside her home on Monday, April 16, allegedly pulling down her pants during the fight and coming at him with a baseball bat.

Police were called to a house on Dale Street at around 1:50 p.m. by the victim, a male postal worker who told police the woman, a 32-year-old Needham resident, had challenged him to a fight several times as he tried to deliver the mail. The woman then “pulled her pants down, exposing her bare buttocks,” according to reports.

She also “grabbed a baseball bat and wanted to fight him” and was yelling profanities at the postal worker, according to reports.

The woman was arrested and charged with assault by means of a dangerous weapon and indecent exposure.

Tire Stolen from Vehicle at Hersey Station
A wheel and tire were stolen off a 2005 grey Accura on Tuesday, April 10, while the vehicle was parked in the Hersey train station lower lot. The owner reported the theft at around 7:50 p.m.

Bike Taken from NHS Parking Lot
A Needham High School student reported that their bicycle was stolen from the school parking lot on Thursday, April 12. The bike was described as a boy’s purple 10 speed, according to reports.

Local Man Faces OUI after Alleged Fight
A Needham man was arrested for OUI on Wednesday, April 11 after he was allegedly involved in an altercation near the Needham Heights Post Office at Highland Avenue and Cross Street.

Police were called to the area for the report of a fight at about 11:45 p.m. A witness said that a person involved in the fight had left the scene in a black Crown Victoria. Police located the vehicle a few minutes later and pulled it over.

While speaking with the driver, a 24-year-old Needham man, police reportedly smelled “a strong odor of alcohol” on his breath. The man was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

An intoxicated passenger in the man’s vehicle, a 24-year-old Waltham resident, was placed into protective custody, according to reports.

RI Man Found with Illegal IN Plates
A Rhode Island man who was driving illegally with an Indiana dealer plate was summonsed to court for multiple vehicle violations after being pulled over in Needham on Monday, April 9.

Police stopped the vehicle for a marked lanes violation at around 1:30 p.m. in the area of Dedham Avenue and Alder Brook Lane. The operator, a 24-year-old man from Johnston, RI, was found to have the illegal dealer plate and was cited for the marked lanes violation, having an unregistered vehicle, driving without insurance and attaching plates.
