Police Reports: Storm Drains Stolen from Storage Yard
The following information was supplied by the Needham Police Department. Any charges mentioned do not indicate a conviction.
A contractor reported on Sunday, Sept. 30 that three cast iron storm drains were stolen from his storage yard in Needham. The drains were valued at a total of $1,000. The theft is believed to have occurred sometime in early July.

Suspicious ‘Home Inspector’ on Old Farm Road
A resident on Old Farm Road called police on Friday, Sept. 28 at around 12:10 p.m. to report a suspicious person on her property.
The woman told police that a neighbor had informed her that an individual claiming to be a home inspector had been on her property on Wednesday. The homeowner said that she had made no appointments and could think of no reason why someone would be inspecting her house.
Resident Victim of Identity Theft
A Needham resident came to the police station on Friday, Sept. 28 to report that she was the victim of identity theft. The matter is being investigated.
Items Stolen From Captain Robert Cook Drive Home
A resident on Captain Robert Cook Drive reported on Saturday, Sept. 29 that someone had stolen several items from his residence. No further details were included in the police report.
Vehicle Reported Missing From Local Garage
A vehicle owner reported that his car was stolen from a mechanics garage on Clyde Street on Saturday, Sept. 29; however, when police arrived, the vehicle was at the site.
Police took the report at around 10:30 p.m. The man said he had gone to pick up the vehicle at the shop but it was not there. When the officer went to the garage to investigate, he found the vehicle, which appeared to have been driven recently. The owner came to inspect the vehicle and found everything in order, according to reports.
Daughter Accused of Breaking Into Home
A Captain Robert Cook Drive resident called police on Sunday, Sept. 30 to report that his daughter had broken into their home and caused damage. When police arrived, the daughter had already left the scene. The man said he did not want to press charges.
