Police Reports: Stolen License Plates Found On Another Vehicle

The following information was supplied by the Needham Police Department. Any charges mentioned do not indicate a conviction.

A set of license plates reported stolen on Nov. 20 was found the next day on another vehicle driven by a Needham resident.

Police came across a vehicle bearing the stolen license plates in the area of Abbott Street and Great Plain Avenue and questioned the driver, a 48-year-old Needham man. The man told police he had found the plates in a parking lot and attached them to his vehicle, according to reports. The proper license plate for his vehicle had been revoked after his insurance was cancelled.

Police had the vehicle towed and summonsed the man to court for attaching motor vehicle plates and operating an unregistered and uninsured motor vehicle. The owner of the stolen license plates was notified that they had been found, according to reports.
