Police Reports: Man Charged With OUI Drugs After Crashing Into Telephone Pole
The following information was supplied by the Needham Police Department. Any charges mentioned do not indicate a conviction.
A 29-year-old Needham was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, Class B drug possession and other violations after he crashed his vehicle into a telephone pole on Central Avenue on Friday, Dec. 30.
The crash occurred around 10:47 a.m. near the entrance to Horsford Pond. The driver was uninjured after his vehicle veered off the road and struck the pole, according to reports.
While speaking with the driver, police noted that he appeared to be under the influence of narcotics, according to reports. Police also allegedly found Class B drugs on his person.
The man was arrested and charged with OUI drugs, Class B drug possession, marked lanes violation and negligent operation.

License Plate Stolen
A license plate was reported stolen from a vehicle parked near a business on Highland Circle. The plate was taken sometime between Dec. 23 and Dec. 27. Police are investigating.
Handicap Placard Taken From Car
A handicap parking placard was reported stolen from a vehicle sometime between Dec. 15 and Dec. 27. The matter remains under investigation.
Former Employee Accused of Stealing Copper
The owner of a Kearney Road business reported on Wednesday, Dec. 28 that a former employee had stolen copper. A complaint is being filed against the former employee, a 50-year-old North Easton man, for larceny over $250, according to police reports.
Vehicle Crashes Into Front Lawn
A 28-year-old Needham man is being summonsed for traffic violations after his vehicle ended up on the front lawn of a Central Avenue home. The crash occurred around 9:09 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 28. The driver was summonsed to court for operating to endanger and marked lanes violation, according to reports.
Man Charged in Vehicle Vandalism
A 51-year-old Needham man was charged with malicious damage after he allegedly vandalized a vehicle on Ardmore Road. The incident was reported around 10:49 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 28.
