Police Reports: Mailboxes Smashed on Central Ave.

The following information was supplied by the Needham Police Department. Any charges mentioned do not indicate a conviction.

 

Six mailboxes on Central Avenue were smashed overnight on Thursday, July 28.

A Needham police officer on patrol in the area noticed the damaged mailboxes lying on the ground around 12:45 a.m., according to reports. One of the homeowners told police she had heard a loud crash and kids in the street but by the time she came outside, the individuals were gone.

The incident remains under investigation.

Vehicle Hit by Golf Ball 
A vehicle parked at the Hersey commuter rail lot was damaged by a golf ball on Monday, July 25.

The rear window of the vehicle was broken and a golf ball was found on the back seat, according to police reports. The vehicle was parked near Needham Golf Club.

The vehicle owner was advised to contact his insurance company and, if he was not satisfied, to also contact the Golf Club, according to reports.

Fence Vandalized at Community Farm

A fence and gate at the Needham Community Farm on Pine Street were damaged sometime around Wednesday, July 20, according to police reports. The incident remains under investigation.
