Police Reports: $2,000 Laptop Stolen From Vehicle
The following information was supplied by the Needham Police Department. Any charges mentioned do not indicate a conviction.
A $2,000 laptop computer was stolen from a vehicle on Central Avenue, the owner reported on Thursday, Aug. 9. The incident occurred early that morning while the vehicle was parked in the owner’s driveway.

Plates Seized For Revoked Registration
A Needham man had his license plates seized after he was pulled over for an equipment violation and was found to have revoked registration because of insurance cancellation. The traffic stop occurred on Thursday, Aug. 9 at around 8:33 a.m. The vehicle was towed as well. The driver, a 53-year-old Needham man, was summonsed for the offenses.
Computer, Other Items Taken in Home Break-in
A home on John Street was broken into on Wednesday, Aug. 8 and a laptop computer and other personal items were taken. The incident occurred between 10 and 11 p.m. A vehicle that was parked in the driveway was also broken into, and some loose change was stolen. Police are investigating.
Worker Injured on Cabot Street
Police were called to a construction site on Cabot Street on Thursday, Aug. 9 at around 2:46 p.m. for the report of a man with a possibly broken leg. When officers arrived, they found that a 48-year-old male worker from Leominster had sustained an injury to his left ankle, foot and leg area. Needham paramedics transported the man to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Needham.
Altercation in the Roadway
Police were called to a disturbance at the intersection of Marked Tree Road and Great Plain Avenue on Thursday, Aug. 9 at around 9:20 p.m.
A female caller told police that a man was yelling at her and standing in the roadway. Officers arrived on the scene and located the people involved, determining that the individuals had argued over “improper driving,” according to the report. Officers spoke to all the people involved and helped calm the situation. Everyone left the scene without further incident or police involvement.
