Pet of the Week: Ruby
Contact the Neponset Valley Humane Society for details on adopting this pretty white cat.
Submitted by Judy Ambrose, Neponset Valley Humane Society
Ruby is a pretty white cat with double paws. She is very sweet, social, playful and affectionate. She enjoys attention and is comfortable being picked up and cuddled. She has a very endearing habit of wrapping her paws around your arm as you pet her as if to say, "Don't stop!" She likes to cuddle up right next to her foster mom and purrs with contentment.
She is sometimes very kitten-like and silly and loves interactive play.
We estimate Ruby is about 1 to 2 years old. She will do best as the only pet in her new home since she loves people but does not enjoy the companionship of the other felines in her foster home.
Ruby was a stray. She was not spayed and her health was severely compromised when she was first rescued. The cause of her problems appears to have been a flea allergy. Many cats are allergic to fleas and even one flea can cause them severe pain. Ruby has been with us for several weeks now. She is spayed and flea-free. She loves being an indoor cat and so we don't expect her allergy will cause her anymore problems.
Please call Neponset Valley Humane Society at 781-769-1990 or e-mail nvhumanesociety@gmail.com to arrange a meeting with Ruby.

More to adopt: There are so many very friendly and affectionate cats and adorable kid-friendly kittens in need of loving homes. Please help every cat find the loving home they deserve by spay/neutering your cat and avoiding accidental litters.
Spay/neuter: The next NVHS low cost spay/neuter clinic for cats is Tuesday, Aug. 7 in Norwood. Male cat neuters cost $75. Female cat spays cost $85. Neighborhood and feral cats are free. Financial assistance is available for any cat owner for whom these reduced prices would truly be a financial hardship. Call for information and to make an appointment.
Other animals: In addition to the many friendly house cats and kittens, NVHS volunteers are also caring for a pair of barn cats, a few guinea pigs and a house rabbit all in need of families to call their own. Visit our website, neponsethumane.org, to see all our pets waiting to be adopted.
Neponset Valley Humane Society is an all volunteer, all foster care organization dedicated to helping companion animals and feral cats.
