Pet of the Week: Buddy

The Bay State Animal Cooperative would like you to bring home Buddy for the holidays.

Meet Buddy. This handsome and loving cat is living with the feline leukemia virus (FeLV).

Buddy is a neutered, short haired, handsome male tiger kitty. Buddy was rescued about a year ago and is now seeking his forever home. He is estimated to be about two years young!

Buddy's current foster calls him a "sweet boy," but they are unable to allow him to co-mingle with other foster kitties, so he does not get the affection he craves.

He is looking to share his life with another feline leukemia cat or with a family who accepts him with his disease and is willing to show they care. He is extremely affectionate and would love to sit with someone and hang out for the rest of his life.

FeLV is not contagious to dogs or humans. He can live a life with other cats vaccinated for FeLV. Inquire with BSAC or your veterinarian regarding necessary precautions required for her to live with other cats. If you are that special person please let us know so we can let Buddy know.

This cat deserves a forever home like any other cat. In most cases these infected cats have a special aura about them and they are the most compassionate and loving cats you may ever meet.

To adopt Buddy or other pets from the Bay State Animal Co-Op, email baystateanimalcooperative@yahoo.com or stop by the PetSmart at 607 Belmont St. in Brockton.
