Newton Man Arrested for Flashing Women on Walking Path

The following information was supplied by the Needham Police Department. Any charges mentioned do not indicate a conviction.

A Newton man was arrested for open and gross lewdness Thursday after allegedly exposing himself to women on a walking path in Needham.

Needham Police ran an undercover investigation on Thursday, Sept. 27, after receiving reports about a man "exposing himself to women" on a walking path located along the Charles River near the Newton/Needham town line.

"During the investigation, officers encountered a white male on the path who exposed himself to them then fled on foot," Needham Police Lt. Chris Baker said in a press release issued Friday.

After searching the area, police arrested the man, 21-year-old Stanislav Engelgardt of Newton.
