Needham Votes: A Quick Look at Who's Running on Tuesday

School Committee, Planning Board the only contested races in town election.

Needham voters will decide two contested races on Tuesday, choosing among four candidates for two seats on the School Committee and selecting one of two candidates for the Planning Board.

School Committee member Michael Greis will face off against three new candidates — David Ecsedy, Catherine Kurkjian and Kim Marie Nicols — in the race to fill two seats on that board.

Meanwhile, current Planning Board member Bruce T. Eisenhut will be running against a former Planning Board member, Frank Gallello, for one open seat on that board.

The selectmen's race this spring is uncontested, with current Selectman Gerald A. Wasserman up for re-election and candidate James G. Healy, a former selectman, running to fill the seat vacated by newly elected state Rep. Denise Garlick.

Election Day is Tuesday, April 12, with polls open from 6:45 a.m. to 8 p.m. in all precincts. Not sure of your polling location? Visit the Massachusetts Elections Division Web site, wheredoivotema.com, and enter your address to find out.
