Needham Olympian Aly Raisman Shares Workout Tips in Web Video Series
Watch the local gymnast talk about who she trains, what she eats and more in Yahoo! Sports' new "Elite Athlete Workouts."
This summer, many Needham residents will watch the world's top athletes take to the field, track, court, pool, floor or otherwise as they follow the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London, England beginning July 27.
Watching the games from the comfort of their own home, or a nearby sports bar or restaurant, viewers will be amazed at these athletes' abilities, their skill, their fitness and their strength. And some of the more curious among viewers may wonder: Could I do that?
A new series of Web videos on Yahoo! Sports might be a good place to find the answer.
Yahoo! Sports' latest edition of "Elite Athlete Workouts" features Olympic hopefuls, including Needham's own London-bound athlete, Team USA gymnast Aly Raisman. The 18-year-old Needhamite is among a group of athletes who were interviewed for the series and share details about their personal workouts and diets as they train for the 2012 Summer Olympics.
"'Elite Athlete Workouts' gives viewers inside access to the training regimens, motivations and personal stories of some of the most exciting Olympic athletes and rising stars to watch this summer, including Michael Phelps, Nathan Adrian and Jonathan Horton," according to a press release from Yahoo! Sports.
One of the latest episodes features Raisman, 18, and offers an exclusive look at her Olympic training.
"Aly shows viewers what it takes to be an Olympic gymnast, sharing her most important and surprising post-workout snack," the press release states. "She discusses her hardest event and how she overcomes fear when competing. She also shares how Olympic veteran Alicia Sacramone helps her."
