Needham Man Running Marathon for Pine Street Inn
Local runner training for the 2013 Boston Marathon.
A Needham man is gearing up for his first marathon, and is netting $5,000 to help the homeless.
Needham man Dan Doyle, is running for the Pine Street Inn, which serves 11,000 homeless men and women in Boston. According to a press release from the Pine Street Inn, he started running last year and is gearing up for the 2013 Boston Marathon as his first.
“Pine Street Inn is an incredible operation. We have donated to their cause in the past, but getting to run on their marathon team is giving me an opportunity to really see firsthand what they're all about,” says Doyle in a press release (see PDFs).
The Pine Street Inn team has a collective fundraising goal of $40,000--of which they have raised almost $22,000, at the time of writing. Doyle has already reached his goal, the release notes, and is continuing to raise more.
He will be joining Ananda Weafer, who is also running the marathon for Boston Children's Hosptial's Mile for Miracles program.
