Needham Man To Be Charged in BB Gun Incident

The following information was supplied by the Needham Police Department. Any charges mentioned do not indicate a conviction.

A Needham man is being summonsed to court on charges of assault, destruction of property and others after he allegedly shot a BB gun into an occupied vehicle parked on Jenna Circle last week.

The charges are the result of a Needham Police Department investigation into an incident that occurred on Thursday, May 3 at around 3 p.m. No one was hurt, but the window was shattered. Police found a BB inside the vehicle, according to reports.

Police identified a possible suspect after talking with the victim and several neighbors. The victim told police that there have been issues with the male suspect in the past, including a disagreement over whether vehicles are allowed to be parked on the street. The suspect feels that this is not allowed, according to police reports.

Needham Police obtained a search warrant, and local detectives searched the man's residence.

As a result of the police investigation, the suspect, a 39-year-old Needham man, is being summonsed to court for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, shooting a BB gun over a roadway, malicious destruction of property and possession of a Class B drug.

Police have not released the man's name, as the charges are pending, according to Needham Police Lt. Chris Baker.
