Needham Group Provides Resources for Unemployed

Transitions will meet throughout the summer.

As millions of Americans can attest to, many people, including those in the Needham area, are facing unemployment and wondering what course of action to take in their careers.

For people in Needham and the surrounding area who are unemployed or in career transition, the Needham Presbyterian Church offers a group called Transitions, open Mondays through Thursdays from 9 a.m. to noon.

"We welcome everybody," said Elaine Putnam of Transitions, highlighting that someone is always there to "greet and interact with" people who stop by.

Putnam recently led a discussion called "Networking a Room," exploring how to network at the social gatherings that accompany the summer months, as part of the Wednesday speaker program. Other programs offered include mock interviews on Mondays, LinkedIn tutorial workshops on Thursdays, and a discussion aptly named "Tell me, What Is It You Plan To Do With Your One Wild and Precious Life?"

Transitions has its meeting space in the church, where refreshments are served,  and a library and computer area are available. For more information and to view a calendar of upcoming events, visit the group's website
