The No. 1 Needham High School boys tennis team proved they truly are tops, defeating Lexington 4-1 in the MIAA Division 1 East Final on Monday, June 11.

The team will advance to the State Final against St. John's High School in Shrewsbury on Thursday, June 14. The final match will be held at 3:30 p.m. at Clark University.

Prior to the match, the Rockets will be awarded the MIAA Sportsmanship Award. They are the second local team to win this award this year, joining the Needham High School football team, which won the award in the fall.

Needham High School students and faculty can sign up outside the Athletic Office to ride the fan bus to the final match. Those who ride the 2:15 p.m. fan buses will receive a free Launch Pad T-shirt.

The local team was featured on Channel 5 news Monday evening.
