Here are a few fun facts about the local celebration, courtesy of North Hill.

How did Needham celebrate the 4th of July this year? North Hill provides a quick look:

Residents of Needham, turned out in force to celebrate the 4th of July this year, setting a new record for food and beverage sales. Eric Moore, North Hill’s director of dining services, reported that total food receipts were up $2,000 over last year’s sales. All funds raised go to support local businesses and the work of the Needham Exchange Club.

Moore shared some “fun facts”—numbers that reveal just how much Needham residents enjoyed the festival:

  • 2,226 hot dogs served
  • 1,287 burgers grilled
  • 887 Italian sausages consumed
  • 162 chicken breasts BBQ’d
  • 144 lonely veggie burgers harmlessly terminated
  • 1,627 bags of chips munched
  • 638 bags of popcorn popped
  • More than 1,400 snow cones packed
  • More than 4,000 bottles of water and soda gulped

“I’m so proud of all the North Hill team members who came together to make this a terrific festival for our Needham community,” Moore said.

This is the fifth year that the North Hill senior living community has supported the two-day celebration by ordering and serving food and beverages.
