Missing a Labrador Mix? Call Needham Animal Control

WCVB reports that St. Mary's Street neighbors found a hungry mixed-breed labrador in the cold. Animal Control has the dog.

A good plate of meat loaf can bring anyone inside.

Residents in the St. Mary's Street area have reported seeing a labrador mix in the area for the first time this week, according to WCVB. Needham Animal Control authorities tried to bring the dog in, but it kept running off. Eventually, a trap baited with meat loaf brought the cold canine in, where it could be taken to a warm Animal Control facility.

If anyone is missing a golden lab mix, somewhere near St. Mary's Street about two days ago, contact Needham Animal Control Officer Danielle Landry at 781-444-1212.

Animal Control is also participating in a pet food drive to benefit the Neponset Valley Human Society. Contact Landry for more details on that.

During winter months, the MSPCA recommends keeping pets indoors as much as possible, and keeping them on a leash when outdoors. They also write that animals who stay out in the cold longer actually require more food.
