Hazel’s Bakery

A family run mainstay on Great Plain Ave.

Originally founded in 1940 by Kenneth and Hazel Mullen, Hazel’s Bakery has been an important part of the Needham landscape for generations of residents.

A short walk from the MBTA Hersey stop, commuters can find fresh brewed coffee in the morning or take home a pastry before driving home at night.

Hazel's specialties include homemade breads, scones, pies, cookies and cakes. Patrons can also find sandwiches and breakfast items.

The bakery may have been founded in 1940, but not at this site -- it was The Little Red Store in the '60s (and I think still into the '70s - not sure when it changed hands) - a convenient little store before the age of 'convenience stores'!
