GOP Congressional Hopefuls to Debate in Attleboro

Patch will be represented on the panel providing questions for candidates Sean Bielat, Elizabeth Childs and David Steinhof

The following is an edited release from the South Coast GOP:

The South Coast GOP will host a forum for the Fourth Congressional District Republican candidates on Monday, Aug. 13 from 7-8:30 p.m. at the auditorium on Bristol Community College's Attleboro campus.

Sean Bielat, Elizabeth Childs and David Steinhof will answer questions from a panel comprised of members of the local media. Following redistricting after the 2012 U.S. Census, the Fourth District now includes Needham.

The South Coast GOP is made up of town/city committees from Seekonk, Taunton, Raynham and Rehoboth as well as the Republican Women of Bristol/Norfolk County.

Taunton Republican City Committee Chairman Gene McCaffrey said:

We believe that for the voters to make an educated decision in the voting booth come the primary on Sept. 4, it is our responsibility as Republican Town Committee to have the three candidates ... come before the voters so that they can tell us, if elected, what they are going to do for their constituents while representing them in Washington.

Participants on the panel include Attleboro-Seekonk Patch, The Sun Chronicle, WVBF Radio of Taunton and WSAR Radio of Fall River. Jack Lank, president of the United Regional Chamber of Commerce, will be the moderator.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Seating is limited, so people should arrive early. The Attleboro campus is located on 11 Field Road in Attleboro. If you have any questions, contact McCaffrey at 508-824-9722.
