2. Columbus Day: Today is Columbus Day, which means Needham Public Schools are closed, as are town offices, post offices and the Needham Free Public Library.
3. Toast of the town: The Boston West Toastmasters Club meets on the second and fourth Monday of every month from 7:30-9:00 p.m. at Christ Episcopal Church in Needham. 4. Donations needed: Parent Talk is seeking gently used maternity and children’s clothing (size 0-8), toys, games, books and equipment for their fall sale on Oct. 29. To donate, e-mail donations@parenttalk.info to arrange a time to drop off items before the sale, or deliver items to Christ Episcopal Church between 9:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. the day before the sale, on Friday, Oct. 28.
5. Fall fun: First Baptist Church in Needham is organizing a trip to Sauchuk Farm Corn Maze on Saturday, Oct. 22 and invites children ages 6-12 to participate. The visit will include a hayride to the pumpkin patch where kids can pick out a pumpkin (bring your own money), a turn at the corn cannon and the corn maze.
