Five Things You Need to Know Today: December 7

A menorah lighting on the Town Common and a couple of holiday parties are among the things to know today.

  1. Hanukkah celebrations continue tonight with the Annual Menorah Lighting on the Town Common. Hosted by the Chabad Jewish Center, the event will feature live music and dancing, a raffle and hot cocoa and doughnuts will be available.
  2. Things will be festive at the Needham Senior Center today during the Annual Holiday Party. The Needham Retired Men's Choral Group will perform live and desserts will be served. The word on the street is that a "special guest" will also be gracing the Center with his presence.
  3. SEPAC will be hosting a holiday party of its own from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Guests are invited to socialize and join Red Cross in making holiday cards for members of the US Armed Forces.
  4. The Feast of the Immaculate Conception will be held at St. Bartholomew Parish at 4 p.m.
  5. The Needham Newcomers will be holding a planning meeting tonight at 7:30 at 673 Webster St. The meeting is open to all members.
