Five Things You Need to Know Today: December 28

Swing music and Frank Delaney’s Shannon are among the things to know today.

 
  1. With the snow cleaned up, places in Needham are once again opening. Town offices reopen today, as does the Transfer Station and Needham Library.
  2. Jonathan Savino and his swing band will be performing at the Rotary Club lunch today. The lunch begins at noon at the Sheraton Hotel.
  3. Looking for a good book to read into the winter months? Try Shannon by Frank Delaney, which will be discussed at St. Bartholomew Parish today at 12:30 p.m.
  4. The Creative Writing Group meets at the Senior Center at 10:30 a.m.
  5. Boys JV hockey takes to Newton at 1 p.m. to play Catholic Memorial, girls JV hockey plays Lexington High School in Newton at 4 p.m. and boys varsity hockey heads to Foxboro at 8:10 p.m. to play Xaverian.
