The Needham Fastpitch spring season is well underway with the two 14U teams kicking off the season three weeks ago at Memorial Park.
The Blue and Gold teams each played Billerica and Andover in a set of four games. The Blue team beat Billerica by a score of 12-3 with strong pitching and hitting.
The Gold team played Billerica in the second game and just barely lost in the bottom of the last inning by a score of 9-11. Billerica then went home and Andover came to play. Andover defeated Needham last year in the finals of the AAU end of season tournament., but the Gold team got the best of their foes this time around, 11-4.

The Blue team lost to Andover by the score of 10-9 when Needham’s tying run was called out sliding into home. At the end of the day, all four teams left the field with one win and one loss.
