This weekend, some Needham residents will be celebrating Easter with worship services, dinners and Easter egg hunts, while others will be marking the beginning of Passover.

To help you with your weekend planning, Needham Patch has put together a quick list of events and programs scheduled in town this week and throughout the Passover season. Much of the information comes from church and temple websites; for additional details or to verify times, contact the institution. Easter Services:

CARTER MEMORIAL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH

• Location: 800 Highland Ave.
• Easter services: Worship services will be held on Sunday, April 8 at 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.

CHRIST EPISCOPAL CHURCH

• Location: 543 Greendale Ave.
• Easter services: Good Friday services on Friday, April 6 will include an Ecumenical service at noon, a children’s service at 3 p.m. and Tenebrae service at 6:45 p.m. The church will hold an Easter vigil on Saturday, April 7 at 7 p.m. The service will symbolize Christ’s resurrection through the bringing of the Paschal Candle into the sanctuary and usher in the joy of Easter morning. Easter services on Sunday, April 8 will include a Festal Holy Eucharist at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m., with an Easter egg hunt at 10:30 a.m.

THE CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH OF NEEDHAM

• Location: 1154 Great Plain Ave.
• Easter services: The church will host a Holy Week choral services on Thursday, April 5 at 7 p.m. Hear beautiful songs of the Lenten season and experience a dramatic reading of the story of Holy Week. Easter services will be held on Sunday, April 8 at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m., with a family Easter egg hunt at 10 a.m.

THE FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH IN NEEDHAM

• Location: 858 Great Plain Ave.
• Easter services: Easter worship service will be held at 10 a.m. Pastor Debora Jackson will preach from John 20:1-10 with a sermon in honor of Christ's resurrection entitled "Paid in Full."

FIRST PARISH IN NEEDHAM, UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST

• Location: 23 Dedham Ave.
• Easter services: First Parish will hold a worship service at 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Sunday, April 8 entitled “An Easter of the Soul,” with a social hour and Easter egg hunt held between the services.

GRACE LUTHERAN CHURCH

• Location: 543 Greendale Ave.
• Easter services: Grace Lutheran will hold a Maundy Thursday service on Thursday, April 5 at 7:30 p.m. Good Friday services on April 6 will include a children’s program at 3 p.m. and a Tenebrae service at 7:30 p.m. Easter Sunday worship services will be held at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m.

PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH IN NEEDHAM

• Location: 1458 Great Plain Ave.
• Easter services: Worship service will be held at 11 a.m. on Sunday, April 8, with an children’s Easter egg hunt on the lawn afterward.

REDEEMER COMMUNITY CHURCH

• Location: Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall, Great Plain and Central avenues
• Easter services: A Maundy Thursday service will be held on Thursday, April 5 at 7 p.m. A Good Friday seder service will be held on Friday, April 6 at 6 p.m. (E-mail Pam Barker at rccboston@gmail.com to reserve a place.) Easter Sunday service will be held at 10 a.m.

ST. BARTHOLOMEW PARISH

• Location: 1180 Greendale Ave.
• Easter services: Mass of the Last Supper will be held on Thursday, April 5 at 7 p.m. Good Friday services on April 6 will include a morning prayer at 9 a.m., Stations of the Cross for children at 10 a.m. and a Passion of the Lord service at 3 and 7 p.m. There will be an Easter vigil mass on Saturday, April 7 at 8 p.m. Easter Sunday masses will be held at 8, 9:45 and 11:30 a.m.

ST. JOSEPH PARISH

• Location: 1360 Highland Ave.
• Easter services: A Mass of Our Lord’s Supper will be held on Thursday, April 5 at 7:30 p.m. Good Friday services will be held at 3 and 7:30 p.m. On Saturday, April 7 there will be an 8 p.m. Easter vigil mass. Easter Sunday masses will be held at 8, 9:30 and 11 a.m. and at 12:30 p.m.

Passover begins on the evening of Friday, April 6 and ends on the evening of Saturday, April 14. Below is a quick rundown of some Passover services and events planned at local temples:

CHABAD JEWISH CENTER
