The blog Boston Restaurants conducted a poll through Twitter this week to find the best meatballs in the Boston area and they are reporting that Comella's, which has a location in Needham, is the winner.

According to Boston Restaurants, the Italian chain finished with 64% of the vote. Other eateries receiving votes included Cardullo's in Cambridge, Craigie on Main in Cambridge, Porcini's in Watertown and Tavolo in Dorchester.

The poll is not the first of its kind for Boston Restaurants, which has previously awarded best sushi to Douzo in the Back Bay, best chicken wings to Buff's Pub in Newton, best pizza to Santarpio's in East Boston and best ice cream to Richardson's in Middleton, among other polls.
