Aly Raisman Says She Will Train for 2016 Olympics
The gold-medal winning gymnast told a big crowd at the DCU Center in Worcester she will attempt to make the 2016 U.S. Gymnastics Team.
Gold-medal winning gymnast Aly Raisman announced that she would begin training for the 2016 Olympics, WCVB reported this weekend.
The 2016 Olympic games will be held in RioDe Janeiro, Brazil, according to the Olympics official web site.
Raisman made the announcement at the DCU Center in Worcester this past Saturday while visiting with a group of gymnasts from Brestyan’s. Raisman told the crowd she loved gymnastics so much that she will continue to do it for as long as she can. She also said she will be training for six days a week in preparation for the Olympic games.
Even though she had big success in 2012, she will still need to try out for the 2016 team.
Her training will begin after she tapes a popular reality television show. As previously reported on Patch, Raisman will be a contestant on ABC's Dancing with the Stars.
She will dance with professional dancer Mark Ballas. Other celebrities cutting up the rug this season include singer Wynona Judd and actors Andy Dick and D.L. Hughley.
