1. Sunny, evening snow possible: We’ll have a sunny Friday with a high near 32 degrees and a low around 12, according to the National Weather Service. There’s a 30 percent chance of snow in the evening, mainly after 5:00 a.m.
2. Friday Flicks: Drop by the Stephen Palmer Senior Center today at 1:00 p.m. for a free showing of “The Man Who Would Be King,” a 1975 film starring Sean Connery, Michael Caine and Christopher Plummer. 3. For the kids: And over at the Needham Free Public Library, kids can drop by at 3:30 p.m. to enjoy the movie “Mr. Popper’s Penguins,” starring Jim Carrey. The movie is rated PG and runs 94 minutes. This is a free program, and registration is not necessary.
4. SEPAC coffee talk: The Needham Special Education Parents Advisory Council will hold a Middle School Coffee today from noon to 1:00 p.m. for parents of students in grades 5-8 who are interested in learning more about the therapeutic supports available in Needham Public Schools. 5. Spring grants: The Needham Education Foundation is accepting applications for its spring 2012 grants program. Applications for grants to fund programs of up to $5,000 are due by March 2. Apply online at www.nefneedham.org. Any Needham Public Schools educator, administrator or community member—including students and parents—is eligible to apply.
