The Needham Free Public Library will host a storytime at 10 a.m.
“Five Things You Need to Know Today” is a Patch column that provides readers with essential, daily information at a glance.
1. Sunny: Today will be sunny and clear, according to the National Weather Service. High: 77, Low: 54.
2. Storytime: Bring children ages 5 and under to the Needham Free Public Library today at 10 a.m. for stories, music and movement. This program is free, with no registration required. Note: The Needham Library will be closed from Saturday, Sept. 1 through Monday, Sept. 3 for Labor Day weekend.
3. Shopping day: The Needham Community Council Thrift Shop is open every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. Stop by to find deals on clothing for men, women and children as well as small household items. Customers should use the entrance to the left side of the building.
4. Nominate a great kid: Needham Youth Services' RAY of Hope award (Recognize A Youth) is a monthly recognition of a youth who is giving back to the community and is a role model for his or her peers. The program has no age limit—kindergarten through high school are eligible. To nominate a youth, download a form online at www.needhamma.gov/youth/ray or pick up a form at the Needham Youth Services office on the lower floor of Town Hall.
5.
