The YMCA of Greater Boston is giving residents another reason to commit to a New Year’s resolution to be healthy: fees at the Charles River YMCA are decreasing for all adult and family memberships.
Fulfilling its commitment to make healthy living accessible to all, the YMCA of Greater Boston has reduced rates across all of its 13 branches, including the Charles River YMCA. The Charles River YMCA has two Needham locations: the family center at 380 Chestnut St. and the indoor pool facility at 863 Great Plain Ave.
Young adult, adult and couple monthly membership rates have decreased by more than 10 percent. Family and senior memberships have also been lowered.
“The YMCA of Greater Boston is all about healthy living, social responsibility and youth development,” said CEO Kevin Washington. “To further that goal, we want to ensure that the Y is affordable for all members of the community, from children to young adults to families and seniors. Everyone can benefit from the services of their local Y and this will make it easier for all during this difficult economy.”
The young adult category has been extended through age 29 to make membership accessible to college students and young professionals. Young adults who are living at home and are 26 or younger can remain on their family’s Y membership plan. YMCA Financial Assistance will continue to be available for individuals and families in need.
A Y membership includes access to all fitness facilities, locker rooms, gymnasium, group exercise classes, swimming pool access and aquatic programs, wellness and nutrition consultation, and discounted prices for special programs.
