The Library Foundation of Needham is seeking a few more volunteers for the upcoming Black, White & Read All Over Gala on Friday, Sept. 14.

Volunteers are needed for the following tasks:

Quickie Board Assistants: The quickie board is a fast-paced auction where bidders gather around the board to verbally bid on auction items. Assistants will record bids on the quickie board as bids are being called out. Volunteers should enjoy fast-paced fun, have good handwriting, good listening skills and be able to manage an enthusiastic gathering of bidders. This commitment is for 15-20 minutes of your evening.

Volunteer Floor Managers:  A few individuals are needed to walk around the event and check in on event volunteers to see if they need any support, have any questions or need a break from their duties. This commitment is for approximately one hour of your evening.

Balloon Sales: Guests will be able to purchase balloons that have mystery gifts inside them. We need a few people willing to staff the balloon sales area and sell balloons to bidders. There will be no money involved, just recording of the persons bid number. Volunteers for this position should be outgoing and enthusiastic to generate interest in the purchase of balloons. This position will take about one hour of your time.

Silent Auction Table Monitors: Volunteers are needed to monitor the silent auction tables to ensure that the tables are kept neat, to explain the bidding process to bidders, to encourage bidders to place bids and to circle the winning bid when the table is closed. Volunteers for this position should be detail oriented, social and engaging. This commitment will take approximately one hour of your time.

Cleanup Volunteers: Volunteers are needed to help remove and box decorations from tables at the end of the evening. The event is over at 11 p.m.
