Temple Aliyah’s Gan Aliyah Shabbat Club, a Friday after-school Jewish enrichment program for kindergarteners, is now registering students for the 2011-12 school year.

Open to temple members as well as the general community, the program will run Fridays from 11:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in accordance with the Needham Public Schools calendar. A kosher hot lunch and snacks are included. Tuition is $1,200; transportation from Needham public schools to Temple Aliyah may be available at an additional fee.

The program offers kindergartners opportunities to explore Jewish holidays, customs and mitzvot, to experience Shabbat, and to be exposed to Hebrew language through crafts, creative movement, music and free play. Rabbi Carl Perkins and Cantor Gastón Bogomolni regularly visit the children to sing songs, tell stories and join the fun.
