A Needham student was among the 513 graduates awarded diplomas at Denison University's 171st commencement held Sunday, May 13. Emaline Gioia Pryor of Needham (02492) was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree from Denison by President Dale Thomas Knobel.
Pryor graduated with a major in art history and a minor in communication. She studied off-campus with Syracuse University in Italy.
During the ceremonies, Nicholas Anthony Pandolfi delivered the senior class address, "Auto-Cartography." In addition, senior co-governors Christopher Cole Black and Mary Kate O'Keefe McCarthy announced the senior class gift. Special guest John Churchill, the national secretary of the Phi Beta Kappa society, recognized the 100th anniversary of Denison's Theta of Ohio chapter of Phi Beta Kappa. Ellen Gould Chadwick, a member of the Denison class of 1975, delivered the commencement address, "Better Than You Left It."
