Prominent Colon and Rectal Surgeon Joins BID-Needham
Deborah Nagle, MD, Chief of the Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) has joined the Department of Surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Needham.
An expert in colorectal surgery, Nagle will see patients at BID-Needham on Fridays; providing a convenient location for patients wishing to have outpatient visits and outpatient surgeries closer to home.
“We are very excited to have such a nationally recognized expert in the treatment of colon and rectal diseases on our medical staff,” said BID-Needham President and CEO John M. Fogarty. “Dr. Nagle will provide the kind of care, usually found only in Boston, right here in the community.”
As part of the medical staff at BIDMC, Nagle introduced, developed and continues to promote the use of minimally invasive colorectal surgical techniques. Nagle was part of the team that developed the port of single incision laparoscopic surgery and began the first robotic colon and rectal surgery program in Massachusetts.
Nagle is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery. Accomplished in her field, Nagle has been recognized in Boston five times with Best Doctors honors; most recently in 2011. She has also been recognized on the national level, receiving America’s Top Doctors for Cancer honors in 2009, 2010 and 2011.
