Submitted by Needham Youth Services
Needham Youth Services offers a Peer Tutor Program for elementary and middle school students entering grades 3-8 who have demonstrated a need for academic assistance or a need for support in developing successful study habits.
Volunteer high school students provide one hour of tutoring each week throughout the academic year at designated sites only. Note: This program is not appropriate for students with advanced learning needs or behavioral issues.
Applications are being accepted now until June 1 for the 2012-13 academic year. Please note that previous applicants who were on the waitlist must reapply with a current application.
Applications are available in the Needham Youth Services office or online at needhamma.gov/youth/peertutor.
Parents will be notified of their child’s status in the program by the end of June.
There is a $45 fee associated with this program, which can be waived in the event of financial need.
