Needham's 9/11 Remembrance to Include Reading of Names
Needham has spent almost a year celebrating the upcoming tercentennial in November. It’s a special time in the history of our town, but Needham’s 300th birthday year is also the 10th anniversary of 9/11.
On Sunday, Sept. 11, The Needham Clergy Association and town leaders will lead a service of remembrance and a renewed call for peace entitled “Let There Be Peace on Earth” that will include the reading of local and Massachusetts names of those who died on Sept. 11, 2001.
The Needham Interfaith Choir will mark the event by singing an anthem especially written for 9/11. Up to 50 singers from choirs throughout town are expected to participate.
The event will be held at Memorial Park at 5:00 p.m. All are invited to attend. For more information, e-mail Julia Baker at office@ccneedham.org.
