The Massachusetts Bay Commuter Railroad Company (MBCR) has announced that the Amtrak Northeast Corridor Rail Tie Replacement Project on shared MBTA commuter rail lines is expected to conclude, which will allow restoration of regular weekday schedules on the Fairmount, Franklin and Needham lines.

This change will become effective on Monday, Sept. 12.

All customers who use the Providence/Stoughton line will have a newly modified schedule on that date as follows: 

Weekday, Inbound:

• Train 8802: Departs TF Green at 6:33 p.m.; arrives at Providence at 6:48 p.m.
• Train 8804: Departs TF Green at 7:38 p.m.; arrives at Providence at 7:53 p.m.

Weekday, Outbound:

• Train 8801: Departs Providence at 5:41 a.m.; arrives at TF Green at 6:01 a.m.
• Train 8803: Departs Providence at 6:00 a.m; arrives at TF Green at 6:25 a.m.
• Train 813: Departs South Station at 4:35 p.m.; arrives at Providence at 5:44 p.m.
• Train 815: Departs South Station at 5:00 p.m.; arrives at TF Green at 6:25 p.m.
• Train 817: Departs South Station at 5:40 p.m.; arrives at TF Green at 7:03 p.m.
• Train 819: Departs South Station at 6:10 p.m.; a rrives at TF Green at 7:30 p.m.

Weekend, Outbound:

• Train 1805/2805: Departs South Station at 11:05 a.m.; arrives at Providence at 12:15 p.m.        
• Train 1807/2807: Departs South Station at 1:05 p.m.; arrives at Providence at 2:15 p.m.

Amtrak began replacing rail ties on shared portion of the Northeast Corridor Main Line in June between Back Bay Station and Forest Hills. MBCR thanks customers for their patience during the past three months while Amtrak completed this necessary track work.
