Needham Community Theatre to Present 'Cat on a Hot Tin Roof'

Tennessee Williams’ Pulitzer Prize-winning drama "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" will be presented by Needham Community Theatre March 30 to April 1 at the Presbyterian Church in Needham.

Set on a Mississippi Delta plantation during the 1950s, this American theater classic depicts the tensions among family members who have gathered to celebrate the birthday of patriarch Big Daddy Pollitt, who is dying of cancer.

According to director Frank Moffett, the play is a compelling portrayal of “a southern family’s struggles with the ideas of truth, judgment and greed.”

The play features Needham residents Seth Stadfeld, Talia Jacobson, Caroline Kapp and Joe Silverman, who plays Reverend Tooker and agrees that audiences will be captivated by the show’s “intensity and raw emotion.”

The show will be on stage Friday, March 30 and Saturday, March 31 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, April 1 at 3 p.m. For tickets or information, visit www.needhamtheatre.org or call 718-444-4740.
